Salim Aoun Engineer Zahleh Maronite MP
Born in Zahleh on October 15, 1961 Son of George Salim Aoun and Salwa Shafic Kfouri
Married to Najwa Elias Sayegh and has four children
Completed primary and complementary education at the Saints Coeurs School- Zahleh Continued secondary education at the Oriental College, and obtained in 1979 a Lebanese Baccalaureate II- Mathematics
Obtained in 1984 a civil engineering diploma from St Joseph University (USJ) - (ESIB)
Runs his own engineering office since 1984
Carried out many residential and educational projects in Zahleh and the Beqaa valley
Taught Mathematics for secondary classes at the Oriental College from 1985 till 1987
Member of the Lebanese – Swiss friendship that is the fruit of homologation between the Maronite diocese of Zahleh and the JURA diocese in Switzerland
Was head of the Youth Movement of Zahleh diocese that participated in the World Youth Day convened by the Pope and held in France in 1997
One of the founders of the Maronite housing cooperative and former member of its board of directors
Member of Zahleh Maronite diocese Chair construction committee
Incumbent member of the Hannibal Club board of Trustees, and former member of its administrative committee
Former chair of the Beqaa committee in the Lebanese basketball federation
Vice President of the order of engineers and architects in 2005, first elected member of the same order in 2001 for a period of 3 years, and reelected for a second mandate in 2003
Former member of the Federation of Lebanese Engineers
Former member of the training of engineers in the Order of Beirut
Participated with the Lebanese delegation in the works of the Arab Engineers Supreme Council in 2002
Participated in meetings, conferences, and general assemblies of the World Federation of Engineering Organizations (WFEO), in Mexico in 2002, in China in 2004, in Greece and Puerto Rico in 2005, and in Chicago in 2006 Was elected vice President of the WEFO’s Committee on Engineering and Environment In Shanghai- China in November 2004
Was elected member of the WEFO’s Executive Council in Puerto Rico in 2005
Was elected Member of Parliament for the Maronite seat in the constituency of Zahleh on June 12, 2005
