Hagop Pakradounian
- Born in Beirut in 1956 - Pursued primary and secondary education at the Souren Khanamirian Armenian School, from which he graduated in 1975 - Holder of a BA degree from the American University of Beirut since 1978, as well as a Master’s degree in political science since 1980 - Holder of a BA degree in political science from the Lebanese University since 1985 - Holder of an MBA degree in political science from the Lebanese University since 2001 - Worked in journalism from 1975 till 1980, reporting for the “Aztag Daily” and other Tashnag party newspapers addressing the Armenian Diaspora - Principle of the Souren Khanamirian Armenian School from 1980 till 2000 - Principle of the Levon & Sophia Hagopian Armenian School from 1986 till 2005 - Lecturer at the Armenian Studies Institute from 1986 till 2005 - Member of the central committee and the political office of the Tashnag party since 1986 - Spokesman of the Tashnag party from 1984 till 2002 - Participate in the Middle East Council of Churches and in the World Council of Churches - Appointed member of the audiovisual media committee in 1994 - Elected member of the Lebanese Parliament for the Orthodox Armenian seat in the Metn constituency in 2005 - Member of the parliamentary Foreign Affairs and Environment committees - Member of the Lebanese British, Lebanese Swedish, Lebanese Iranian, and Lebanese Armenian friendship committees in the Parliament - Participated in the Arab Parliament Union conference and in that of the Inter-Parliamentary Union - Member of the Armenian Community’s Supreme Council in Lebanon - Participated in several conferences on electoral law and on parties in Jordan and Morocco. |
