• Objectives of the Committee:
Its main objectives consist in gathering sufficient information on the Movement’s activists (using a statistics form) to be used in different domains and activities, for which the Movement requires manpower or certain qualifications. Such information shall also be used in the process of transforming the Movement into a party (by means of the affiliation mechanism).

• Powers and Main Functions:
- The Committee set up, upon deliberation with other central committees (technical, secretariat, political culture, studies, organization, propagation…), an integrated affiliation mechanism, which was later on included in the Movement’s internal system and the internal party election system.

- The Committee, with the cooperation of the Central Technical Committee, drew up statistics form samples and divided the completed forms based on civil status (districts and towns), copies of which were sent to the Central Technical Committee to be entered in its computer system.

- The Committee used the statistics form as a database allowing the latter along with the local and district bodies to study the file of each affiliation applicant and put forth the necessary recommendations and decisions regarding the acceptance or rejection of the application, knowing that the Committee had restrictively determined under the affiliation mechanism the reasons for refusing the applications to avoid double standards, pave the way before the biggest number of potential affiliates and keep the risk of penetration as far from the Movement as possible.

- The Committee shall issue its decision to accept or reject the affiliation application after taking into account the recommendations of the local and district bodies and other available information, allowing the accepted affiliation applicant to submit the official application and required documents to the central secretariat in view of obtaining the party ID.

- To avoid any prejudice to the affiliation applicants, the Committee shall study all the objections put forth as to the acceptance or rejection of the applications before taking the final decision with regard thereto.

- Seeing that the party structure has not been completed yet due to the establishment phase that the party had to undergo, the Committee had to carry out the work of many local and district bodies in view of setting up the affiliation mechanism.

- The Committee effectively contributed in establishing the internal election system, the arbitration council work principles and the moral law of the Movement.

- The Committee and the Central Technical Committee set up a Power Point presentation on the affiliation mechanism, the party structure of the Movement and the internal party election system. The Central Technical Committee, the Secretariat, the Committee of Studies, Mr. Issam Malek and Mr. Nassib Hatem partook in the explanation and clarified how to work online (to implement the affiliation mechanism) in all the districts of Lebanon.

- The Committee participates with great efficiency in the Internal Party Election Committee and in carrying out the process of affiliation to the Movement knowing that it is an ongoing process.

- The Committee will seek to develop the affiliation mechanism and take the necessary measures to encourage the submittal of more affiliation applications and activate the investment of the available manpower and qualifications.
